Important Meeting Updates

- LibCal
- Stacey is working on training everyone on LibCal which will go live at the end of this month.
- Ariel and Cedric will serve as back ups for program approval.
- You are responsible for getting your programs to Stacey ASAP to secure a room
- Direct Patrons to online catalog to reserve the rooms
- Shelf Reading
- Log shelf reading each time you complete it. If you are scheduled five hours of shelf reading then there should be five responses submitted, not one for the whole week.
- New shelf reading process includes scanning the items. If you do not scan the items then it does not count.
- CSD/ Recovery of Areas
- Do not hang out around the customer service desk during the last hour.
- Everyone should be recovering their areas. Recovery of area includes straightening books on the shelf, picking up loose items, and ensuring the items are in order.
- Statistics Update
- There is a new category on the stats sheet called computer help. This means if you help a patron on the computer then this counts as computer help one on one. This is each time you help someone regardless if you have already helped them.
- Be sure to log all programs and log statistics
- Online Library Card Applications
- No more paper applications as of June 30. All applications are to be completed online.
- Closing Message
- Please see the emailed script.
- Be consistent with the closing announcement, 30 minutes, 15 minutes, 5 minutes before closing
- Tardiness/ Unscheduled Vacation
- Unscheduled vacation time is only unscheduled if Cedric has been given less than a 24 hour notice. This does not include Sunday, if Sunday you need to be off on Monday, then it is unscheduled.
- Under special circumstances you can make up time missed during your lunch hour but this has to be approved by Cedric first.
- Customer Service Training
- All staff will be signed up to attend Customer Service Training, be on the lookout for an email once you have been registered.
- Building Issues
- All sprockets submitted must be emailed to Cedric and Ariel so that we may follow up on the issue. This is to ensure all building issues get handled in a timely manner. If you have questions about how to submit a sprocket, ask Cedric or Ariel.
- Outreach
- All outreach requests must be approved by Cedric before you commit to them. We have to be sure we have adequate coverage first.
- Outreach happens outside the library. Do not count inside library programs as outreach.
- If you attend an outreach you must include in your monthly report how many people you reached, what services you promoted, and what you did.
